Young Eagles Rally Needs Help

Chapter 46 is planning to host our first Young Eagle Rally since 2014 next month on June 18 at the Lancaster Airport. I’ve been in contact with EAA headquarters, and we’ve got things rolling from there, the flyers should be arriving on my doorstep in the next week or so, and I’ve fielded a few calls from parents who are interested in signing their children up (and I still haven’t done any promotion). However, we have a problem and I need your help to solve it.

In order for us to have this rally we need volunteers. People to work registration, run the ground school, to escort participants and their families to the planes and back and we need pilots. A few people have let me know that they would be willing to help with some of the ground activities, but I could still use more. My concern is the number of pilots. As I write this, I have only heard back from 1 pilot that would be willing to fly Young Eagles. This is nowhere near enough.

If we don’t have several pilots (5 -10) by the May meeting (May 11, 2016) I’m going to have to do something I’d really prefer not doing: I’ll have to cancel our rally. If you are willing and able to help, please contact me and let me know soon.
